The Fantastic Museum of Liverpool in the United Kingdom

In the summer of 2006, my family and I had the good fortune of spending a week in Liverpool, England.  We had several reasons for choosing Liverpool as our UK destination.  First, my husband is a big Beatles fan, and we wanted to visit the city where they got their start.  Secondly, we have relatives who live in the Liverpool area, and we wanted to spend some time with them.  Third, we wanted to see some of the historical sites in the area, including Hadrian’s Wall. Skelhorne St, Liverpool can be seen here.

Liverpool did not disappoint on any of these fronts.  We had a great time visiting the places associated with the Beatles, including the Cavern Club, and my husband was in Beatles heaven.  We also enjoyed spending time with our relatives and getting to know them better.  And the historical sites in the area were worth seeing. But one of the highlights of our trip was the Fantastic Museum of Liverpool.  This museum is dedicated to the history of Liverpool and its people.  It is located in the city center and is easy to find. When we walked in, we were immediately impressed with the available information.  There were displays of the city’s history, the docklands, the people, the culture, and so much more.  We spent hours walking around the museum and could have easily spent more time there.
